A design-led solution crafted for design professionals
At Ren Studio, we help designers and architects deliver beautiful, high-spec projects without blowing their client's budget or compromising on the overall design vision.
By pairing custom doors and panels with IKEA’s Metod, Pax and Besta systems, we make it possible to achieve a tailored, high-end look at a fraction of the cost of fully custom joinery. The result: the freedom to realise your full design intent - with flexibility, precision and confidence on every project.

How Ren works
Ren is built on a simple idea: use IKEA’s robust cabinet bases, then layer on our designer-curated doors and panels to achieve a fully custom look.
We supply all the visible elements of the joinery - doors, drawer fronts, cover panels, kickboards and more - all made to perfectly fit the IKEA system. We can also create custom sizes and bespoke pieces.
The result is a seamless, high-end finish that looks like bespoke joinery, with the affordability and practicality of IKEA at its core.

Our profiles and finishes
Our doors and panels are crafted with interior designers and architects in mind, with profiles and finishes curated to sit comfortably in high-end projects without dating or overpowering a space.
Each profile has been carefully chosen for its elegance and adaptability, whether you're seeking a minimalist flat front, a refined shaker or a subtle detail that adds depth without distraction.
Paired with these profiles, our finishes are selected to elevate IKEA foundations into bespoke joinery:
- Customcoat painted finish – A smooth, 2PAC poly satin finish in our refined palette, or your own custom colour at no extra cost.
- Timber veneers – Natural warmth and texture handcrafted by our partners at Farmers Doors. Available in a range of stains and timber textures.
- Premium laminates – Hardwearing, tactile, and perfect for high-traffic zones without compromising design integrity.

"We had such a great experience with Ren Studio. From the very beginning, they were knowledgeable, flexible, and so easy to work with and really listened to what we wanted, offered thoughtful advice and even
catered to our custom colour door fronts, which turned out absolutely stunning.
They worked within our timeframe without any stress, and the turnaround was impressively quick. Now that everything is finished, we’re honestly so stoked with the outcome, the kitchen has become our absolute favourite part of our home. Huge thanks to the Ren Studio team for making the process such a positive one, we couldn’t be happier!"

FAQ
The Ren process
Can you quote without an IKEA plan?
It’s difficult to provide an accurate quote without an IKEA plan, as our pricing is based on precise IKEA module sizes. For the most reliable estimate, we recommend converting your existing joinery or CAD plan into an IKEA format first. Once that’s complete, we can provide a detailed Ren Studio quote, ensuring you and your client know exactly what to expect.
Can you convert my existing joinery plan into an IKEA plan?
Yes. If you already have a joinery plan or CAD drawing, we can convert it into an IKEA plan that’s ready for specification. This service ensures complete accuracy before quoting or production begins. A small service fee applies to cover the design time involved, and you’ll receive a verified IKEA layout that aligns perfectly with Ren Studio’s product dimensions.
Are there any projects that cannot be recreated using IKEA?
While it’s impressive what can be achieved with IKEA bases, some highly customised designs fall outside the system’s limitations, for example, fully curved joinery or complex corner conditions. However, many designers successfully combine IKEA cabinetry with Ren Studio fronts and a few bespoke custom elements. This hybrid approach delivers a high-end, tailored result while keeping costs well below fully custom joinery. And of course, we’re always happy to discuss what’s possible – just get in touch!
Design flexibility
How customisable are your door sizes, finishes, and profiles?
Every project is made to order, so there’s plenty of flexibility. While our doors are designed to fit IKEA’s Metod, Pax and Besta systems perfectly, you can specify custom sizing and custom colours to suit your design. We also offer a curated range of profiles and colours that can be mixed and matched to achieve the ideal outcome.
Can you accommodate unusual requests (oversized doors, grain matching, colour matching)?
Yes! Oversized doors, grain matching, and colour-matched 2PAC are all possible. Our team closely reviews each request individually to ensure it meets both aesthetic and functional standards. If something isn’t feasible within the IKEA framework, we’ll do our best to advise alternative ways to achieve a similar design intent.
Do you offer products beyond doors (panels, trims, kickers) to achieve a fully built-in look?
Absolutely. We supply all the visible elements of the joinery – doors, drawer fronts, cover panels, trims, kickboards and filler pieces – to ensure a seamless, custom-built finish. We can also provide complementary products, such as shelving or desk tops to keep all the joinery consistent across a space.
Can you source products from suppliers such as Polytec, Laminex, New Age Veneers and others?
Yes! We can source specific finishes from suppliers like Polytec, Laminex, NavUrban, Nikpol, Fenix, Formica and others, with no extra cost. Get in touch to let us know what you need.
Product quality and reliability
How do your finishes hold up over time?
Very well! All Ren Studio finishes are designed for longevity and everyday durability.
- Our 2PAC poly (painted) finish is professionally sprayed for a smooth, even surface that resists chips and stains when treated with the appropriate care.
- Natural veneer products are finished with a water-based coating to protect timber from the natural oils in human skin and keep them looking beautiful.
- Our laminate options – Renwood, Timberline and Supermatte – are incredibly hardwearing and come with a UV-resistant coating to protect them from the harsh Australian sun.
Like everything, longevity and durability are dependent on use, however, with sensible handling, Ren Studio joinery will continue to look beautiful for years to come.
Can you provide samples that accurately represent the finished product?
Yes. We offer physical samples of all finishes so you can see and feel the quality before specifying. Our samples are cut from real production materials, so what you hold in your hand is a true representation of the final finish. Profile samples are also available for design studios or client presentations.
Lead times and delivery
What are your average lead times?
Our average lead times vary, depending on the finish selected:
- Raw: approximately 3 weeks
- Renwood, Supermatte and Timberline: approximately 4–6 weeks
- CustomCoat (2PAC poly): approximately 7-8 weeks
- Natural veneer: approximately 10-12 weeks
We take production timelines seriously. All orders are scheduled and tracked in-house, and we’ll always communicate proactively if your order requires special handling or extended time frames.
How do you manage delivery logistics?
All orders are carefully packaged, clearly labelled, and delivered via our trusted freight partners across Australia. Each piece is carefully wrapped and transported in a custom-made, heavy-duty crate to protect against damage in transit. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way, from despatch to delivery, so you’ll always know when your order will arrive.
Pricing
Do you offer trade pricing or incentives for repeat business?
Yes! Our colleagues in the trade are eligible for 10% off RRP via our StudioPRO trade program. We can also offer further discounts based on order volume.
How do your products compare in cost versus fully custom joinery?
While every project is different, many clients find that Ren Studio’s approach delivers savings of around 30–40% compared with fully custom joinery. By using IKEA’s proven cabinet bases and layering on our premium doors and panels, clients can achieve the same bespoke aesthetic and performance without the fully custom price tag.
Are there transparent breakdowns so I can quote confidently without unexpected extras?
Yes. All Ren Studio quotes are fully itemised, so you can see exactly how costs are allocated across doors, panels, finishes and accessories. This transparency makes it easier to manage budgets, make adjustments and communicate clearly with your clients.
Project examples and references
Can you share examples of past projects at a similar level to mine?
Absolutely. Our project gallery is a great place to start. It showcases a wide range of homes, from budget friendly refreshes to high-end residential builds. If you’re looking for examples with specific design styles or finishes, just let us know – we have thousands of project images we can share privately.
Do you have professional references or case studies I can show my clients?
Yes. You’ll find three featured case studies on this page, each showcasing how designers have used Ren Studio products to deliver beautiful joinery. If you’d like to see additional examples, we’re happy to arrange that too.
Support
What sort of support do you provide throughout the ordering, manufacturing and installation process?
We pride ourselves on providing personalised service for our clients. Like most small business owners, we’re glued to our technology and help is only ever a phone call or email away. You’ll always speak to someone who understands the nuances of your project and can help address your concerns.
Can you help me select the appropriate finishes for my client project?
Absolutely. From hardworking mudrooms and laundries to beautifully bespoke kitchens, our team can recommend finishes that balance durability and design. We can guide you through the options and help you choose the right combination of colour, texture and performance for your client’s lifestyle.
Can you recommend installers or builders in my client’s location to ensure everything fits as intended?
Yes. We have a network of trusted installers we can recommend across almost all Australian capital cities – and in some cases, even further afield! These installers are familiar with both IKEA and Ren products and can ensure a flawless, custom-looking fit.
